Real Madrid coach Zidane confirms Bale strain: But now he's in form

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane praised his goalscorers Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo after victory at Borussia Dortmund.

Zidane is convinced Bale is now rediscovering his best form.

He said, "The important thing is that we perform well and score goals. I'm delighted for Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo. They read the game really well. Ultimately we come away with a very good result at what's a tough place to come to. We had never won here before and this is a significant result. We put in a really good performance from start to finish.

"We managed the game very well in the middle third, particularly in terms of the pressure we applied. The key was to get the ball off Dortmund. Our first-half performance was stunning. This is a tough place to come and they're a side that can make your life difficult, but we delivered a great performance. It's just three more points, but it's a win at a ground where we'd never managed to claim victory before and that now gives us six points in the Champions League.

"I hope that there are more turning points like tonight's, but Gareth is now on really good form. His calf has swelled up but it's nothing major. He hasn't had it easy and I'm delighted for him. Getting a goal like that is fantastic for him. This game will have done wonders for him and if you give him the space he's lethal, he's just so good."
