Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster had words of comfort for Valencia after last night's 5-1 mauling at the Mestalla.

Real simply blew Valencia away in the first-half banging home four unanswered goals and Schuster said: "We have produced a quality performance and deserved this result.

"It's not normal, but sometimes you get games like this. Our quality and effectiveness decided this match.

"We were superior from the first minute."

Schuster added: "Valencia will soon be back. It's not easy for them at the moment. But a quality coach (Ronald Koeman) is coming and they'll soon be back where they deserve to be."
