Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has shrugged off reports that his board are sounding out potential replacements.

Real angrily dismissed reports yesterday that they had been in contact with ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and Schuster said last night: "It's the same with me. I also have to assess what the team has given me and I will not do so today after being eliminated from the Champions League.

"I do not know what happened last season because I wasn't here, so I cannot make a comparison, but I feel we're not in a serious situation.

"I am not worried. There are people who have the responsibility for making such decisions. What is important here is that we have a lot to do, it is seasonal, we have to win the League. That is my job, the rest is irrelevant."
