Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho admits he needs "enemies" to succeed in football. Mourinho says it keeps him motivated.
He told Corriere della Sera: "It's better. I do not think it is crucial, but it's better. Especially when you're in a moment of success and have a tendency to relax: if you hear that noise, if you feel people are trying to take advantage of your difficult time, this helps. Yes, I would rather have (enemies).
"But, I want to clarify that the word enemy is not a word due to my personal life, but when I say enemy I mean in football. From childhood we start competing, and even my friends were my enemies at that time.
"The adrenaline is something that your body needs to relax, I prefer to hear a little 'noise' from my enemies."
