Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui was delighted with victory over Roma on Wednesday night.
Real thumped their Champions League opponents 3-0, with Isco, Gareth Bale and Mariano Diaz scoring the goals.
Lopetegui said, "I'll take the team's triumph with a rival like Roma, who last year eliminated Barcelona and went far, we knew they were going to make things difficult for us, but the team was very good, we made a great match, both defensively and offensively."
On Luka Modric's performance, he added: "He has played a great game, he just missed the goal."
Lopetegui went with Keylor Navas ahead of Thibaut Courtois in goal and explained: "I said I did not have a problem but two magnificent conclusions and that's how it was."
