Real Madrid coach Ruben de la Red says Iker Casillas deserves consideration for the Ballon d'Or.
De la Red is close to Casillas having come through the Real system with the club captain.
"Iker Casillas has many merits to win the Ballon d'Or. Maybe its time for the goalkeepers to be looked at. For me, saving a goal is as good as scoring it," said De la Red.
