Real Madrid have gone cold on Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
Real president Florentino Perez has seriously explored the prospect of offering over £70 million for the United star.
However, Sport says after consulting with Real football staff, Florentino has pulled back from plans to make an offer.
Real chiefs have concerns with Rooney's ability to adapt to Madrid life and fear he would struggle in a similar fashion to French flop Karim Benzema. Club staff believe Rooney would struggle with the Spanish language and culture.
After discussing the prospect of signing of Rooney with his staff, Florentino has decided to turn his sights elsewhere for a new striker.
