Real Madrid's international chief scout Julen Lopetegui has returned from scouting the Copinha in Sao Paulo.

"You can't believe what you see there," said Lopetegui. "Brazil exports every year about 500 professional soccer players. There are wonderful surprises there that nobody knows about.

"I did not go completely without information to the championship. We have studied before the players who interest us and I went there to verify those indications. It is necessary to try to know these players before they become famous and their price increases.

"Our youth system is healthy, but we're always working to improve it. We'll produce some surprises in the next four years. You cannot create a Lionel Messi, he just appears and it's our job to find the next one."
