Real Madrid sports director Pedja Mijatovic admits there's little chance of them landing Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo or Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

He said: "I have to say we have discarded Cesc and Cristiano because they belong to two great teams and the possibility of a transfer has never been raised. At this time, working with Arsenal, Manchester United or Olympique Lyon for Benzema, we will have many difficulties.

"It is virtually impossible. Where there are no buyout clauses in these countries, it is a problem for us."
