Real Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic has played down reports of a move for Liverpool strike-ace Fernando Torres.

Rafa Benitez's problems at Liverpool have sparked speculation that Torres could leave Anfield at the end of the season - should the manager be shown the door by the club's American owners.

However, Mijatovic told Radio Marca: "We are following many players, but there is no intention to sign Fernando Torres. We are evaluating possible signings, but that's all."
