Real Madrid, Chelsea target Reus explains penning new BVB deal

Marco Reus has explained his decision to commit to a new deal with Borussia Dortmund.

The midfielder was wanted by Europe's biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

However, instead he signed terms with BVB to 2019 and told Kicker: "First, I feel at home in this team and this environment. This is an absolute priority for me as a player. If I feel free, I can give my best on the pitch. And here in BvB, you get this feeling, I'm free."

He continued: "I am part of an ambitious group, which has been very successful in recent years. It has been a difficult time recently, which is something that can happen. We came out of it thanks to the impressive contribution of each player.

"The ease with which BvB has managed the internal crisis and externally, shows the strength of this club. No one worked in the wrong direction. Borussia Dortmund held together."
