Real Madrid are eyeing AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.
After defeat to Atletico Madrid yesterday, Real coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted his midfield was lacking intensity.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Real are lining up a January move for Strootman.
New Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, who managed Strootman for the Dutch national team, also kept tabs on the box-to-box midfielder all summer and is believed to have sanctioned a 35m bid for the ex-PSV man.
Strootman, for his part, has been focused on working his way back to fitness and has remained tight-lipped on a possible move away from Italy.
