New Real Madrid Castilla coach Santiago Solari is off to a winning start.

Castilla won their first friendly of the preseason yesterday, defeating Gimnástica Segoviana 3-1.

Solari, a former Real midfield star, saw Javi Muñoz score twice and also Mario Rodríguez hit the back of the net.

Featuring between the posts was talented goalkeeper Carlos Abad.

The Segoviana game was the first of five friendlies scheduled for Castilla this preseason.
