Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos was delighted with victory at Champions League opponents Borussia Dortmund.
In his post-match interview, the club's captain made clear that every player wanted to return to the high levels previous set.
"Every three days there is a match, for good or bad you have to deal with a situation," he said.
"We wanted to see the best version of Real Madrid once again, we showed a lot of personality and it was important to win with authority."
In their previous six visits, Zinedine Zidane's charges had never won at Signal Iduna Park and the Spanish defender confirmed that it was pleasing to end such a negative run.
"We knew it was a good opportunity for us to win after so many years without a victory here," Ramos continued.
"It is a difficult stadium and we have always struggled with that, but from the first minute we showed authority to dominate the match."
