Real Madrid captain Raul admits he wanted to be taken off before he struck in last night's win over Real Zaragoza.

Raul opened the scoring on the night as Real eventually won 2-1.

"I hurt my ankle and I was asking for the change, but I have been fortunate to get a goal," smiled Raul. "The team was made to suffer, but the important thing was the win. The three points were very difficult. The team has once again become competitive."

Raul could be in his last month as a Real player and it was at Zaragoza that he debuted 16 years ago: "It's always nice to return to this field."
