Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has declared former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is "in the past".
Ronaldo left Real for Juventus in the summer for a club record €112m.
Ramos said yesterday: "He has marked an era in Madrid, has broken all records, but he is already the past. We cannot live on what he did in the past.
"His hole is very big but it has been covered by other players with a lot of ambition and we have a great squad to compete. We always have a lot of love for the top players but when they are not there we have to continue.
"We wish him the best, as long as he does not cross us."
Ramos was also asked if Real are better without their former No7.
"I respect the opinion of the whole world. Cris gave us a lot and took away little.
"Now we have to adapt to another style, we have more possession and another way to hurt the opponent."
