Real Madrid captain Casillas keen to stay in football after retirement

Iker Casillas says he wants to stay with Real Madrid.

The club captain is proud of his 'one club' status.

"I joined Real Madrid in 1990, after a trial in the old Ciudad Deportiva. Antonio Mezquita picked me and after that I progressed through all the different age categories until reaching the first team. I have spent my whole life with Real Madrid.

"Now I am the captain because I am the most senior member of the Spanish national team and Real Madrid squads. I've been lucky enough to have had great captains and I try to impart the knowledge I've learned on a daily basis. I hope I am able to help those coming up just as I was helped.

On a future beyond playing, he added: "I would like to remain involved in the world of football. It is really nice to teach youngsters what I have learned over such a long time. Sharing what I was taught by the great coaches and team-mates I have had."
