Real Madrid captain Casillas: I could do nothing right. I was like a plague...

Iker Casillas says he felt like a "plague" at Real Madrid during his problems last season. The Real captain was frozen out by coach Carlo Ancelotti and was being blamed for negative leaks reaching the press.

He told Canal +: "In this country, which has a thousand positive things, it also has bad things. Amongst those bad things is envy.

"It is true that a few months ago everything was grim and I was to blame for everything. The first problem that everyone wanted to get rid of, I seemed like the plague. But it has been great for me to see the situation. When I walk down the street I only see love from people, from Real Madrid fans and from people who are not from Madrid but who are fans."

On the 'mole' rumours, he added: "The coach, people, maybe the club, I don't think any thought that. I have been at Madrid for 17 years and I have met with many journalists who come to us but that does not mean that you tell them things."
