Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has denied claims he isn't interested in utilising the club's youth system.

It was suggested he wasn't aware of who Castilla starlet Dani Parejo was, but replied: "You're wrong. He is a very interesting player and I've been following him since I arrived. I like his quality and his style and, in fact, I wanted him to train with us during the international break, but he had a problem with a tooth and it could not be.

"What's happened is that with the Castilla's relegation to Segunda Liga B, the gap is too great between that competition and the Primera to bring young players into the senior team."
