Real Madrid boss Ramos: I was wrong to force diet onto Spurs players

New Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos admits he was wrong to push his diet on his players at former club, Tottenham.

Ramos said: "The recovery of Tottenham is very difficult for me to understand. They have a good team and the situation did not make sense.

"The sales of (Dimitar) Berbatov and (Robbie) Keane did a lot of damage to Tottenham, because they were key players and would score 40 goals between them.

"(Roman) Pavlyuchenko arrived at the start of the season and clearly had problems settling in.

"I also believe that the diet of the players was not right in England and that caused a problem with some of the squad."
