Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos admits his players were nervous during last night's 1-0 win over Valencia.
An early strike from Gonzalo Higuain was enough to deliver Ramos his first Liga win since his appointment and the coach said afterwards: "Yes, there could have been more goals for the chances both teams had.
"It is true that the state of the pitch did not help much, but in the end we have achieved the victory that is so important. We would have liked to have won by more and not to suffer so much, but it was not to be.
"The responsibility was heavy on the players because we needed the three points. The players were confused about whether to go for 2-0 and take the risk that we could be caught on the counter.
"The loss of points would have been a big problem."
