Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has made contact with Cristiano Ronaldo to ease the tension between the star and the club. With Manchester United and Manchester City already testing the ground over the prospect of a return to England, Mourinho phoned the player yesterday to clear the air.
Ronaldo created a storm on Sunday night following Real Madrid's 3-0 win against Granada after revealing that he was 'sad' at the Bernabeu.
Marca says Mourinho assured Ronaldo: "You're a major player here. Have no doubts - we have to be clear.
"You are much appreciated and you need to feel loved. Have our affection. And we will help in whatever you need.
"We'll talk more when you come [back from international duty]. You have to be clear that we are here to listen and help."
