Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is chasing Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien. Marca says Mourinho plans to sell Fernando Gago and Lassana Diarra and wants a new 'SUV' midfielder - his No1 choice is Essien.
Chelsea's asking price is the stumbling block, with Real being informed it will take €40 million to land the 28 year-old Ghana ace.
Also under consideration for Mourinho is Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila and Juventus's Momo Sissoko.
