Real Madrid boss Mourinho pressures Man Utd over Welbeck contract talks
Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Danny Welbeck's new contract talks with Manchester United.
The People says Bernabeu boss Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the England striker and will monitor the situation between now and the summer.
Mourinho eyed Welbeck while manager of Chelsea and Inter Milan, although no approach was ever made.
Academy product Welbeck earns £15,000 a week on his current deal, which expires in 18 months and has told United he wants £60,000-plus.
United are unwilling to match that figure and believe their pay structure adequately rewards players’ progress throughout their careers.But now the door is ajar with the 21-year-old, as People Sport last week revealed a stalemate with Old Trafford officials over the terms of a new deal.

Same was said last year about Chicarito but he didn't move. Why should Real Madrid go for Welbeck when we have Joselu who is a prolific Inzaghi type goalscorer and also 21; not to mention Alvaro Morata who is 19yrs and a brilliant propect already?!
