Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is expected to move for Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor next week.
Mourinho is desperate for a forward and has identified Carlos Tevez , City team-mate Adebayor and Hercules hitman Nelson Valdez as his targets.
Mourinho will find out on Wednesday if Gonzalo Higuain needs an operation on his injured back. If he does, then Real's Portuguese chief will insist on signing a striker in January.
Roberto Mancini is preferring Brazilian Jo to misfit Adebayor, who also interests Juventus, in Turin.
