Real Madrid boss Mourinho cannot believe not being Ballon d'Or favourite

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is shocked that he's not the clear favourite for the coaching Ballon d'Or. Spain's Vicente Del Bosque appears to be the frontrunner for the prize in no small part because he won the World Cup in South Africa.

"I did my job," Mourinho told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Eleven months of work, 57 games, three titles, including the most important - the Champions League.

"I won everything. I can't do any more. It's the same argument for the players."

Asked if he was referring to Sneijder, he said: "If Andres Iniesta [gets it] - who didn't play for the first five months of 2010 because of injury, but then played six games and scored one goal in South Africa - then the rest doesn't count in a World Cup year.

"I can understand the [reasons for a] fight if there is a distribution of trophies, but if someone has won everything… What can I say? I prefer to win Sunday's game than the Ballon d'Or."
