Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has declared he wants Xabi Alonso to pen new terms.

Ancelotti says the "best Christmas present" he could receive was for Xabi to sign a new deal.

"He is a very important player in this team. His quality and experience is impressive. His arrival was very good for the team," said the Italian.
