Real Madrid battled to a 1-0 win over Granada last night.
Having opened the campaign with a lacklustre 2-1 victory at Real Betis last weekend, the capital club were indebted to a scrappy Karim Benzema strike at Los Carmenes to make it two wins from two.
The visitors had chances to extend their advantage, notably through Mesut Ozil and Cristiano Ronaldo, and, although no second goal was forthcoming, the Andalusians did not offer much as an attacking force and Madrid took home the points.
"The team was compact and they all worked well. The first half was good and all we needed to do was score the second goal, but 0-1 is not easy to control and experiencing some difficulty is normal," said Real coach Carlo Ancelotti.
