Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has had successful back surgery.
Higuain has undergone successful surgery on his back injury in the last 24 hours.
The 23-year-old Argentina international is unlikely to play again this season as a result of the problem, and was operated on in Chicago earlier today.
Madrid have confirmed on their official website tonight that he will be released from hospital on Wednesday to begin his recovery.
