Real Madrid are upbeat about the chances of Sergio Ramos rejecting a move to Manchester United.
A much anticipated meeting between Ramos and president Florentino Perez was held yesterday in Guangzhou. Also attending were sports director Jose Angel Sanchez and Ramos' brother and agent, Rene Ramos.
Ramos asked Rene to make the trip to China in order to break the deadlock.
The meeting was no holds barred, with Ramos making clear how upset he was with several issues, including the lack of progress over a new deal and also the missing support after he became a pawn in the Barcelona election.
Florentino accepted Ramos' complaints in good spirit and the summit broke up with both parties leaning towards continuing the partnership.
Ramos made it clear his priority was to retire a Real Madrid player and Rene also said he was available this week to revive negotiations over a new contract.
