Negotiations are underway between Real Madrid and AS Monaco over the sale of Radamel Falcao.L'Equipe says the two clubs have 'entered a serious phase of negotiations' over a fee for the Colombia international, who has already agreed personal terms with Real.
Real will not match the €45 million ASM paid Atletico Madrid last summer for Falcao, but the player's determination to return to the Spanish capital is expected to see the French club compromise.
Falcao is understood to be taking a pay-cut on his current €14 million-a-year net five-year ASM contract to return to Madrid and is eager to see the deal happen as soon as possible.
However, the prospect of Real delaying an agreement until January has been raised over concerns regarding Falcao's recovery from a late season knee injury.
But Real medics are confident over the striker's fitness, with Falcao having done his rehab in Madrid.
The striker reported back for Monaco preseason training yesterday and declared: "I'm fit and that pleases me ...".
