Jorge Mendes' furious blast over Luka Modric's awarding of UEFA's The Best title is being seen as the end of his relationship with Real Madrid.
"Football is played within the four lines and there Cristiano Ronaldo won. He scored 15 goals, taking Real Madrid on his back to conquer the Champions League once again. It is simply ridiculous," snapped Mendes on Friday.
Ronaldo failed to appear for the ceremony and the actions of both are now being viewed in Madrid as the low point in Mendes' long time relationship with Real Madrid.
Indeed, along with Ronaldo, another of Mendes' clients, Fabio Coentrao, was paid off and released by Real last week. As such, the Portuguese has no significant clients at the European champions.
