Bild says last night the two clubs reached agreement over a £9 million fee for the Dutch midfielder in London.

Van der Vaart plans to say his official goodbyes to Hamburg teammates at noon today and will put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Real tomorrow.

He will thus become the fifth Dutch player on the playing staff of Real Madrid, which already has Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder and Royston Drenthe.
