Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany is a top target for Real Madrid and AC Milan.

The Sun says Real boss Jose Mourinho is hoping to prise the Manchester City skipper away from the Etihad with a £20million bid next summer as he seeks to shore up his back four.

Madrid scouts have been watching the Belgian defender, sent off against Wolves on Saturday, in recent weeks as they look for a long-term replacement for Ricardo Carvalho, 33.

Serie A giants Milan are also keen on Kompany, 25, but might struggle to raise the transfer fee.
