Real Betis protest against former Chelsea, Spurs striker Poyet

A group of Real Betis fans have opted to boycott the cub until Gus Poyet is sacked as manager.

The influential supporters' group, Gol Sur 1907, have threatened to avoid attending home matches at Estadio Benito Villamarin.

They issued a statement basically saying: "Either Poyet goes or we do."

Real Betis have lost four of their past five La Liga matches under the former Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Zaragoza striker to fall to 14th place on the Spanish top flight table.

Betis president Angel Haro said: "The board is studying the matter and working on the situation. The fans can relax."

Former Brighton & Hove Albion, Sunderland and AEK Athens manager took the reins of the Andalusian club in the summer and so far has a league record of three wins, two draws and six losses from 11 matches.
