Reading's Kitson happy to score against Spurs

Reading striker Dave Kitson was happy to score against boyhood heroes Tottenham in Saturday's 6-4 defeat.

Reading lost 7-4 to Portsmouth earlier in the season and face them next on New Year's Day.

Kitson, a Spurs fan as a child, said: "I feel a bit of an idiot now because I said after the Portsmouth game 'that only happens once in a blue moon'. It must be a blue moon again.

"I always dreamed of scoring at White Hart Lane, but I was in a Spurs shirt when I was dreaming and I was on the winning side."

Pompey were the 54th team Kitson had scored against in the Football League and Premier League when he netted in the thriller earlier in the season - and Spurs is another to cross off the list.

He added: "I've scored here, I've done it now, it's another team I've scored against and now it's 50-something.

"That puts a smile on my face, but my second should have been the winner."
