Reading midfielder Danny Guthrie feels Newcastle United will struggle to keep hold of their stars.
The midfielder reckons dreams of the club competing with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea are pie in the sky.
Guthrie, who lines up against Toon today for the first time since quitting in the summer, said: "People have big ideas - they think Newcastle can break into the top four.
"I'd love to see it but I don't think it will happen because of the finances.
"Newcastle have a team full of good players but they are players other clubs are bound to go for."
