Reading trials for keeper Kowalewski

Reading have handed Polish international goalkeeper Wojciech Kowalewski a trial spell with a view to offering him a contract.

Royals boss Steve Coppell already has Marcus Hahnemann and Adam Federici on the books at the Madejski Stadium, but that has not stopped him taking a look at 30-year-old custodian Kowalewski.

The player has vast experience in the Champions League after featuring for previous club Spartak Moscow against the likes of Bayern Munich, Sporting Lisbon and Inter Milan last season. He has also played for Polish side Legia Warsaw and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukraine.

Kowalewski has fallen out of contract at Spartak Moscow so he would be available for nothing should Royals boss Steve Coppell decide to hand the keeper a deal at the club.
