Reading's Australian goalkeeper Adam Federici has joined Southend on a one-month loan deal. The 23-year-old, who has made two appearances for the Royals this season, goes straight into the Shrimpers squad to face Leyton Orient on Friday night at Roots Hall.
Australia international Federici will now push Ian Joyce for a place in boss Steve Tilson's side as first-choice goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall (ankle) remains ruled out through injury.
He joins Royals team-mate Hal Robson-Kanu on loan at Southend.
