Reading reject reports of West Brom interest in Mills

Reading director of football Nick Hammond insists that Premiership West Bromwich Albion have not made a bid for skipper Matt Mills.

The 24-year-old defender made the move to the English Championship club from Doncaster in 2009 and following some impressive displays this season, a number of Premier League clubs are thought to be tracking him.

"That's news to me," he told the Reading Evening Post when asked about the speculation.

"I've heard nothing from West Brom."

Mills began his career at Southampton before moving on to Manchester City and has had loan spells at Coventry, Bournemouth and Colchester.
