Reading players are coming around to supporting caretaker manager Eamonn Dolan for the top job.

The Sun says Dolan, 45, was the academy coach until Brian McDermott was sacked.

Paolo Di Canio, Roberto Di Matteo and Nigel Adkins have all been in the frame for the job.

But one player said: "Quite a few of us would be happy to see Dolan stay until the season ends.

"There's an increasing chance of this happening but the way this club's been recently, nothing can surprise us."
