Reading have opened new contract talks with Jason Roberts.

Sky Sports says the veteran striker joined the Royals on an 18-month deal in January and made an immediate contribution to the title winning side with six goals in 17 appearances.

Roberts' present deal expires next summer and boss Brian McDermott is keen to retain the vast experience of the Grenada international striker.
