Reading debutant Nick Blackman made his first appearance for the side in the 2-1 win against Sunderland at the weekend. Blackman, who joined the Royals from Sheffield United, impressed and won the free-kick for Jimmy Kebe's winner.
"It was a great result for us - the boys really dug in and it was great to be a part of it," said the 23 year old striker.
"Everyone could see how hard we worked and the gaffer won't let that drop.
"The gaffer said 'go and score the winner' which showed he has great faith in me. I've not had that at previous clubs so it was great.
"It was brilliant - the fans were fantastic and right behind the boys. Even when we went to 1-1 they were right behind me and the rest of the team."
