Reading are eyeing former Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.
The Mirror says the Royals' Russian owner, Anton Zingarevich, and director of football Nicky Hammond flew to Moscow on a scouting mission last weekend and were believed to be watching Pavlyuchenko.
The 31-year-old only joined Spartak Moscow from Spurs in an £8million deal last January, but could be tempted by one big pay-day at the Madejski Stadium as the Royals fight to stay in the top flight.
