Reading keeper Hahnemann: I'm not too old

Reading goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann has dismissed claims he is too old for the Premiership.

The 35 year-old American is off contract in June and told the Reading Evening Post: "Maybe I do feel a little under pressure with the contract situation, but all I can do is carry on playing.

"How many games have I missed in six years? Not many, apart from when I injured my knee a couple of seasons ago and when Stacky (Graham Stack) was given a game. That's a pretty good record for anybody at any age.

"Last year I made more saves in the Premier League than anyone else. In the Actim stats I was top until the last day when David James went past me because I broke my hand.

"My age is not a consideration. Is it stopping me training or playing? No. I train every day and I feel good. If I was missing training or games then my age would be a factor, but it's not a problem at all."
