Marcus Hahnemann has revealed he refuses to watch television or read the newspapers because of Reading's three match losing streak.
"I read the papers when things are going well, but you can get over confident," explained Hahnemann.
"You start to believe the hype. Then when things are going badly it's the complete opposite.
"Right now I don't want to see anything. I didn't watch Match of the Day at the weekend because you start thinking you're rubbish and I haven't read any reports.
"There's such a fine line between being over confident and having no confidence at all."
He added: "We've got to start thinking that it doesn't matter what has happened in these last three games, they're gone.
"We must look forward and try to get back to where we were in the last two years.
"We always knew the Premier League would be hard. Last season was a dream season, though we had a lot of luck as well.
"But at the moment we aren't, as we could have had a couple of penalties for handball at Sunderland."
