Reading keeper Federici: Best week of career!

Reading's Aussie goalkeeper Adam Federici admits the past week was the best of his career. Federici told The Sun: "I come from a place called Jervis Bay, which is just about two hours out of Sydney. It's a little town on the water and it's like Summer Bay in Home and Away.

"Everyone knows everyone in the town and it's a close-knit community.

"Right now, the temperature will be hitting the 30s as we head towards Christmas.

"Every so often my buddies ring me from the beach just to tease me with the sound of the surf crashing in the background.

"But I tell you what, you can keep it right now. I've had possibly the best week of my career."

Last Saturday, Federici got his first start for Royals, at home to Norwich, after four years toiling behind No 1 Marcus Hahnemann.

He promptly celebrated a clean sheet in the 2-0 victory at the Madejski Stadium by signing a new 2½-year contract.
