Reading keen on Brighton’s Mackail-Smith

Reading are believed to be showing considerable interest in Brighton & Hove Albion striker Craig Mackail-Smith.

Royals boss Brian McDermott is determined to strengthen his squad after the recent investments made and it is believed that the England-born Scotland international has emerged at the top of his list.

27-year old Mackail-Smith only joined the Seagulls from Peterborough United on a four-year deal last summer so it is unlikely Gus Poyet will let him depart but the interest from Reading is certainly there.
