Reading insist fullback Nicky Shorey is no certainty to leave this summer.

Director of football Nicky Hammond has confirmed that no offers have been received for 27-year-old, who has been linked with Portsmouth, Newcastle and West Ham.

"People are working on the assumption that Nicky Shorey will move on during the summer," said Hammond. "But it simply hasn't gone that far.

"Nobody has made us an offer for the player and even if they do it does not necessarily mean he will go."
