Reading are keen on Hull City midfielder Robert Koren.

The Mirror says retired Slovenia international Koren was also the subject of a bid from the Royals on the last day of last summer's transfer window.

McDermott is interested in Brighton's Liam Bridcutt, but will continue his interest in Koren if he fails with a £3.5m bid for Bridcutt.

Koren, who would cost around £750,000, has scored 24 goals in 106 appearances for Hull after joining from West Brom in 2010.
